Live Music Now presents

Réalta

Friday 28 April, 8pm

Tickets £12 full, £10 concession

This is a BYO cabaret style event.

Described by Irish Music Magazine as “A full bodied pipe and whistle extravaganza” Réalta are an award-winning band based in Belfast. Performing on duelling uilleann pipes, whistles, bodhrán, guitar, bouzouki, double bass and vocals, they’ll take you on a journey of music and song through the full range of the Irish tradition. Prepare for toe-tapping and foot stamping along with haunting airs and ballads.

This event features the world premiere of a new piece inspired by Limavady, commissioned by Live Music Now, a charity that uses the transformational power of live music in education, health, care and community settings across Northern Ireland. Over the last five years Conor Lamb and Deirdre Galway have played in schools, day centres, community venues and care homes in the area, embracing the spirit of the people and the landscape, and this is their tribute.

“Réalta carry on the Bothy Band tradition of taking tunes by the scruff of the neck and firing excitement through them like hot flames!" Herald Scotland

Réalta are joined for this concert by guest singer and songwriter Myles McCormack, as well as young trad players from CCÉ Jimmy O'Hara (Roe Valley) and a collaboration with poet Anne McMaster.
