AN EXPLORATION OF HOW AND WHY SEAMUS HEANEY USES VISUAL ART IN HIS POEMS AND ESSAYS | A talk by John Brown

Thursday 19 September| 7pm (Doors 6.30pm)

Tickets: £5

Why and how do writers use art? How do they use paintings, sculptures and photographs in poems and texts? This talk by artist and writer John Brown invites you to ask questions about how writers in general, and Seamus Heaney in particular, use art to frame how they feel and think about the world. The talk showcases and assembles a wealth of images drawn from paintings, sculptures and photos to explore how and why these inspired Seamus Heaney’s texts.
