Meet Our Team

Desima-Jayne Connolly, Arts Service Development Manager

Since early 2017, Desima oversees and implements the on-going strategic and operational development of both Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre, Limavady and Flowerfield Arts Centre, Portstewart, including programming, marketing/publicity and good governance, and also manages the community arts engagement service.

Desima has a BA(Hons) in Fine Arts and postgraduate qualifications in both Fine Arts (MFA) and Cultural Heritage & Museum Studies. Before joining former Limavady Borough Council in July 2010 when she assumed management of the new Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre , overseeing its development and evolution, Desima had worked in various cultural roles for over fourteen years, including positions within other local government arts/museum and heritage units, arts organisations and voluntary community groups, developing a strong passion for visual arts and community arts engagement.

Denise Pemrick, Arts & Cultural Facilities Officer

Denise graduated in 2006 with a First Class Honours Degree in Psychology and a Distinction in Industrial Studies. Following her degree she worked as an Assistant Psychologist and in Doctoral research. For the past decade she has worked in the Charity sector primarily in Community Outreach and Disability Development. Her main roles were designing, developing and delivering a Creative Space and Rock School programme for young people with disabilities and working on various Cultural Diversity projects. Denise also co-founded and is a Director for AMP Creative Studios, a Community Interest Company based in Ballymoney which has the aim of increasing community wellbeing through creativity. She is currently completing the final year of her MFA and is a freelance visual artist who has worked with the EA, the corporate sector and numerous community groups. Amy Donaghey, Arts Marketing + Engagement Officer

Amy joined the team in April 2022 and is responsible for marketing and engagement at both Flowerfield Arts Centre, Portstewart and Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre, Limavady.

Amy has an MSc in International Events and Festival Management and has over 12 years’ experience as a marketing and events professional in the arts, hospitality and retail sectors.

Amy has worked across the UK with different arts festivals and not for profit organisations and also in the private sector with industry leading companies.

Billy Coyles, Operations Officer

Billy oversees the maintenance and security of the Centre and makes sure everything runs smoothly on a daily basis. He also supervises our corporate and community hire bookings, ensuring our visitors are happy with our service and provides technical support for our many exhibitions. Shona Kerr, Duty Officer/Housekeeper

Shona is our Casual Duty Officer for both Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre and Flowerfield Arts Centre, overseeing events and making sure everything runs smoothly.

Shona is also one of our valued part-time Housekeeping team, ensuring our lovely venue remains spic and span and providing superb hospitality to our visiting clients and artists. She also acts as front of house staff for our wide range of arts and community events.

Sharon Colhoun, Administration Assistant

As Administration Assistant, Sharon assists the Arts & Cultural Facilities Officer and other colleagues with our core administration including finance and marketing requirements. In addition she handles all bookings and administration for our venue hire clients and their catering needs. Sharon shares her duties with Carolyn Faith on a job-share basis.
