The Colour of Water

Hugh McElwee

4 December – 5 February

Limavady artist Hugh McElwee draws inspiration from the landscapes, coastline and ever-changing light of the North Coast. His paintings reflect a close observation of the natural environment, capturing fleeting moments of atmosphere, colour and reflection through a distinctive and sensitive approach to painting. The artist concentrates on the use of soft light and complementary colours to create form and shape. When reflected this can alter how we see the colour of water.
