The Unfinished Broadside
As part of Causeway Coast & Glens Borough Council’s wider USA–NI250 programme, the Arts Service is bringing a varied programme of live music, film, theatre, heritage and family activities to Roe Valley Arts & Cultural Centre and Flowerfield Arts Centre from September to December 2026.
Building on a summer of USA–NI250 activity, including free outdoor music and film at Flowerfield, an all-Americana concert, bluegrass, Hairspray, Hopper – An American Love Story and a Texas Kickers flash mob at Roe Valley, the autumn programme continues to explore the many connections between Northern Ireland and the United States.
From the sounds of Nashville and American cinema to the remarkable story of Strabane-born printer John Dunlap, the programme shines a light on the people, stories, traditions and cultural influences that have travelled across the Atlantic. Families can also discover the Irish roots of Halloween and how ancient Samhain traditions evolved into the celebrations enjoyed today, with Halloween Haunted House events taking place at both arts centres.
With music, storytelling, history, film and plenty of opportunities to get involved, the programme offers a chance to discover some of the fascinating and often unexpected connections between here and the United States.
