A new series of creative outreach workshops is set to take place in Ballymoney and Ballycastle this spring and summer, offering local residents the opportunity to learn new skills, explore their creativity and connect with others in a welcoming and supportive environment.

The programme is delivered by Causeway Coast and Glens Arts Services, bringing accessible, high-quality creative opportunities directly into community venues and ensuring that people of all abilities can take part in the arts close to home.

At Ballymoney Town Hall, participants can join a Beginners Painting workshop on Tuesday 26 May (10am–12pm), led by tutor Louie Winward. This relaxed session introduces essential painting techniques, encourages experimentation with colour, and supports creative confidence building, with all materials provided.

Also in Ballymoney, a four-week Quilting: Patterns of Movement & Heritage course runs from Thursday 28 May to 18 June (10.30am–1pm), led by Gwen Thompson. Participants will explore the rich traditions of quilting, drawing on cultural heritage while developing their own unique textile piece.

In Ballycastle at Sheskburn House, a range of workshops will also take place. A Beginners Painting session on Tuesday 19 May (2–4pm), led by Louie Winward, offers a gentle introduction to painting techniques and colour.

A 4-Week Handbuilding Ceramics Course runs from Monday 1 June to 22 June (10am–1pm), led by Fiona Shannon. Participants will learn hand-building techniques including slab building, coiling and pinch pots, creating ceramic pieces which will be fired, glazed and ready for collection.

A Fused Glass Workshop takes place on Thursday 11 June (10am–12pm), led by Natasha Duddy, giving participants the opportunity to design and create decorative glass pieces including a plant pot stake and candle holder using vibrant glass elements.

These workshops are designed to be inclusive, welcoming and social, offering participants the chance to take time for themselves, learn new skills and engage with their local creative community.
