As the evenings draw in and autumn settles in, there is something wonderfully comforting about slowing down, gathering around a table and making something by hand.
This autumn, Dúchas – Heritage Craft Series invites you to do just that.
Rooted in Ireland’s rich traditions of craft and making, Dúchas celebrates the skills, stories and techniques that have been passed from one generation to the next. Across a programme of workshops, participants can explore traditional crafts through a contemporary lens, learning from experienced tutors while creating something uniquely their own.
From the gentle rhythm of a spinning wheel to the intricate stitches of Mountmellick embroidery, from weaving and willow work to hand-printed linen and felted landscapes, these workshops offer an opportunity to learn, create and reconnect with the simple pleasure of making by hand.
Whether you are completely new to a craft or keen to develop an existing creative interest, there is plenty to discover.
