Meet the Maker, Atlantic Design Studio
Earlier this month we made the announcement that Atlantic Design Studio, the creation of local designer and silversmith Lou Gillett, would be joining our network of artisan makers. All of Lou’s contemporary jewellery is in Sterling Silver and has been featured in Ulster Tatler, Northern Woman, VOGUE, GQ and BRIDES magazine. Lou’s interest in contemporary modern design comes from her love of sketching new ideas and exploring the endless possibilities of the three dimensional form.
Lou comments: “Inspiration is often taken from the local coast, birds, sea, sand and the built environment”.
Lou’s background as an architect and designer leads her to a natural experimentation with new ideas, forms, textures and design philosophies, from clean sharp lines to free flowing organic forms.
