We are delighted September–December 2026 Programme , bringing together an exciting programme of live events, exhibitions, creative workshops, family activities, film, community projects and new outreach opportunities across Roe Valley Arts and Cultural Centre, Limavady, Flowerfield Arts Centre, Portstewart and the Borough.
From acclaimed musicians and theatre to inspiring exhibitions, festive favourites and hands-on opportunities to make and create, the new season offers something for audiences of all ages and interests.
Currently on display, Wanderlore: Seven Schools, Seven Stories of Limavady Myths and Legends celebrates the creativity of more than 300 local primary school pupils, who worked with professional artists to explore the folklore, history and legendary characters of the Limavady area. The exhibition will continue alongside a programme of associated activities, including immersive storytelling and creative workshops inspired by local myths and legends.
These include The Salmon of Knowledge Story Dome on Wednesday 16 September, inviting children into an immersive 360° storytelling experience, and The Golden Hare: Read Along & Illustration with award-winning author and illustrator Paddy Donnelly on Monday 21 September, combining storytelling with hands-on illustration.
This is followed by Echoes by Gail Mahon and Mhairi Sutherland, exploring the historical and cultural significance of the former military trainer dome at Artikelly. Winter brings The Colour of Water by Limavady artist Hugh McElwee, inspired by the landscapes, coastline and changing light of the North Coast, alongside the annual Limavady Art Groupexhibition.
The performance programme spans live music, theatre and comedy, with highlights including Niall McCabe, The Illegals, Ashley Campbell, Loreand Bruce Springsteen tribute Glory Days. Audiences can also enjoy theatre, storytelling and comedy including The Unfinished Broadsideand a visit from comedian Emer Maguire.
Families can enjoy The Fisherman and the Mermaid from Banyan Theatre, while the festive programme includes Limavady Drama Club’s Goldilocks and the Three Bears, a Christmas Soul Tea Dance,Glow: Sing & Shine, and a special screening of The Polar Express. The year ends with a festive party night fromThe Soda Popz.
Roe Valley’s creative learning programme offers opportunities in illustration, ceramics, printmaking, mixed media, fused glass, painting, photography, creative writing, textiles and traditional crafts.
New this season is Dúchas – Heritage Craft Series, celebrating traditional craft techniques and the skills, stories and rituals passed through generations, including textiles, embroidery, weaving, willow and felt.
The Arts Service is also expanding its outreach programme across Causeway Coast and Glens, bringing creative opportunities closer to local communities through partnerships with schools, community organisations and other venues. Activities will include artist residencies, photography, painting, craft and creative writing across locations including Ballycastle, Ballymoney, Cushendun and Feeny.
Schools and young people will continue to benefit from artist-led workshops connected to the Echoes exhibition, while both Arts Centres will support families through Mums Meet and Make, providing accessible creative activities for new parents and babies under one.
The Arts Service will also continue supporting local creative talent through its Culture, Arts & Heritage Small Grants Scheme, Creative Practitioner Bursaries and Creative Youth Bursaries, with applications opening in December.
