It’s the most wonderful time of the year, and Roe Valley Arts Centre in Limavady and Flowerfield Arts Centre in Portstewart are ready to deck the halls with an enchanting line-up of Christmas fun for all ages! From gift-hunting to Christmas crafting, both arts centres have a festive programme to warm the heart, ignite creativity, and support Northern Ireland’s finest local talent. Unwrap the joy of community, creativity, and celebration this festive season.

Flowerfield Arts Centre kicks off the festivities with the best festive craft market on the North Coast. The Flowerfield Christmas Craft Market (9 November – 21 December) is a treasure trove of unique, handcrafted items so you are guaranteed to find the perfect gifts this Christmas. With everything from handmade jewellery and homeware to artisan foods and decor, every purchase supports local makers.

The centre’s programme is packed with events, from a lively evening of Ulster Scots music, poetry, and ‘craic’ with ‘Sheddas On Tha Page’and Willie Drennan on 22 November to celebrate Leid Week, and a Festive Seniors' Tea Dance with The Leading Ladies (6 December) guaranteed to keep toes tapping. Film fans can get their festive fix too, with classics like It’s a Wonderful Life(4 December, 2 pm) and the ever-charming Muppet Christmas Carol (7 December, 11 am).

For budding little artists, Flowerfield’s Weekend Wonders workshops have plenty of festive magic in store, with sessions themed around autumn animals (23 November) and Christmas stockings (30 November). These sessions are for children aged 5-12 years). Adults looking for hands-on holiday cheer can craft their own stunning Tiffany-style glass Christmas Angel with Eleanor Jane McCartney, a Ceramic Winter Wonderland Table Centrepiece with Fiona Shannon or a Woolly Felted Santa with Carolyn Faith (allon 7 December) – perfect for adding a dash of handmade charm to your Christmas decor.

Meanwhile, Roe Valley Arts Centre in Limavady has its own sack full of treats lined up. From Limavady Drama Group’s side-splitting pantomime Dick Whittington in the Land of Limavegas (20-23 November) to the glittering Christmas Country with the Stars (6 December), the stage is set for laughter, cheer, and a bit of seasonal sparkle. Little ones will be spellbound by FairyTale StageShow’s Santa’s Super Show(7 December), an afternoon filled with magical moments for the whole family. And don’t miss the Roe Valley Magical Christmas Experience. Mary Claus will be at Roe Valley Arts Centre on 30 November for a truly wonderful Christmas workshop! Children will dive into holiday fun with storytelling, making reindeer food, crafting festive wreaths and decorations, and writing heartfelt letters to Mr. and Mrs. Claus.

Adding a rock ‘n’ roll twist to the festivities, the Elvis Spectacular (14 December) will have fans dancing in the aisles, delivering a high-energy tribute to the King that’s perfect for a festive night out! For film fans, the centre will screen timeless favourites like The Snowman (21 December, 1 pm) and Home Alone (21 December, 3 pm).
