Discover a Season of Creativity, Culture, and Connection at Roe Valley Arts Centre
This winter and spring, make Roe Valley Arts Centre your go-to destination for warmth, inspiration, and community. With an exciting line-up of exhibitions, workshops, family activities, and the much-anticipated Steinbeck Festival, there’s something for everyone to enjoy.
Inspiring Exhibitions
Kicking off the season, anama by Anne McAlarney (11 Jan – 1 Feb) presents a series of minimalistic oil paintings that explore the tension between the lost and found. The Steinbeck Festival also brings two must-see exhibitions: the Steinbeck Connection Children’s Book Cover Exhibition (22 Feb – 22 Mar), bursting with vibrant designs by local primary school pupils, and the thought-provoking Steinbeck Dust Bowl Photography Exhibition: Leaving (3 Feb – 22 Mar), which captures the poignant theme of departure through 20 compelling images.
This February, delve into the legacy of Pulitzer prize-winning author John Steinbeck with our annual festival. Highlights include an evening with Mark Carruthers in conversation with Fergal Keane (7 Feb), the bluesy brilliance of Muireann Bradley (15 Feb), and the engaging Steinbeck in Georgia talk and film presentation by photographer James Hughes (8 Feb). Don’t miss storytelling, poetry, live music, and thought-provoking talks that celebrate Steinbeck’s profound impact.
