The Causeway Craft Trail Showcase Exhibition will take place from Saturday 18th June to Wednesday 31st August 2022. This exhibition will feature artisan pieces created by crafters and makers from across the Causeway Coast and Glens area.
Many of these makers participated in the pilot Causeway Coast and Glens Craft Trail back in March. This trail allowed visitors to meet with local makers and crafters in the places that inspire their work. A new map was also produced as part of the initiative, illustrating the locations of makers and craft collectives’ studios.
The Causeway Coast and Glens area is home to a wealth of artists, making both traditional and contemporary crafts. From the likes of potters and textile artists to jewellery designers, glass artists and wood turners – our wonderful creatives continue to draw inspiration from our spectacular landscape, coastline, and cultural heritage.
Visitors will be spoilt for choice as they explore the exhibition and there will also be a series of workshops and demonstrations for adults and children to enjoy, led by the makers themselves.
The skilled artisans taking part in the exhibition include:
- Ceramicists Adam Frew, Babs Belshaw of The Blackheath Pottery, Fiona Shannon, Malcolm Murchison, and McCall Gilfillan.
- Textile artists Frankie Creith, Brigitte Le Boulleur, Jill Gurney, Claire McDowell and Crann +Caora.
- Glass artists Eleanor-Jane McCartney and Andrea Spencer.
- Jewellery designers Robert Spotten and Emma Thorpe.
- Milliner Fee McToal.
