Your Venue
Flowerfield Arts Centre is home to world-class contemporary art exhibitions, music, performance and film events, as well as a packed creative learning programme for all ages.
Located on the internationally renowned Causeway Coast, Flowerfield is based in Flowerfield Park, just five minutes outside of Portstewart Town Centre. Come visit us to enjoy the beautiful park surroundings which includes the award-winning Diversity Playpark, one of only three fully accessible playparks for children in Northern Ireland.
As Northern Ireland’s very first local authority developed Arts Centre, we opened in 1980. The original listed, Georgian style building was extended in 2004 to include a café/reception space, a purpose-built auditorium and multiple creative studio spaces.
Our facilities now include:
- auditorium with 130 fully retractable tired seating with additional 25 balcony seats and 'sliding' wall which opens to Flowerfield Park
- three spacious art galleries
- two dedicated craft studios in ceramics and glass equipped with 5 electric wheels, pottery and glass kilns
- four multi-purpose classrooms
- conference room
- cafe/gift shop
- free car parking right outside the venue
Big Telly Theatre Company are our resident theatre company and one of our craft studios is currently leased to acclaimed local ceramicist Fiona Shannon.
We strive to nurture artistic talent and provide exceptional interactive creative opportunities for all.
We're passionate about making, creating and engaging you! Come and hang out with us - you're welcome to picnic on our outdoors piazza, grab a coffee or an ice cream and sit a while in our cafe area or craft corridor overlooking the park.
Are you a local voluntary arts group or charity looking for somewhere to meet? Are you a private/statutory organisation wanting to hold a meeting, networking event or conference in a unique, creative facility? Just get in touch with us.
We want you to feel at home here at Flowerfield and we look forward to welcoming you.
We are open:
Monday to Friday: 9.30am-5pm
Wednesday & Thursday additional evening hours: 7-9pm
Saturday: 10am-1pm
