On Growing Old
Harry McMahon
13 September – 25 October
‘I started growing old on Tuesday 26 May 1937. I started feeling old on Friday 26 May 2023’ – H McMahon
Featuring selected art from seven groups spanning the timeline of his work, Harry explores the growth and creative development of an artist over time. Emeritus Professor Harry McMahon taught at Ulster University. He began painting in 1979 and eventually undertook a degree in Fine and Applied Arts, graduating in 2006. In his practice, Harry pursues landscape painting and exploring humankind’s use of science and mathematics to impose order on chaos. Harry continues to be a passionate advocate of fine arts and creativity in the Causeway Coast and Glens area. The artist is donating all sales to Marie Curie in recognition of the care given to his wife Anne, and Harry, in the last months of her life.
